Around 450 fashion designs and fashion photos of stars and legends of both profession , to sketches of famous designers of 25 September until 30 November to see the Sharjah Art Museum , Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

The impetus for the show entitled ” The Lure of Beauty” ( ” The lure of beauty” ) was Her Excellency Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi , Director and President of the Sharjah Biennial and the Sharjah Art Foundation . It was curated by gallery Brigitte Schenk and the collector Martin Fervers . The program they put as follows: ” The exhibition documents a journey through the fashion illustrations in drawing and photography of the early 20th century through the 50s and 60s to the new millennium It includes numerous drawings of famous artists like Edward Benito, Carl Erickson, René Bouché . Rene Bouet – Willaumez , René Gruau to Tony Viramontes and Karl Lagerfeld as well as vintage photographs of great photographers of her time such as Edward Steichen , George Hoyningen -Huene , Cecil Beaton and Horst P. Horst . photographs of the great Parisian fashion shows of the nineties sketches of famous fashion designers and magazines and books from past eras of fashion set additional accents . ” And : ” A particular concern of the exhibition is also impressions of the changes in fashion and by looking at the woman in the course of ages to convey and – not least – to document the importance of fashion and beauty in art and to emphasize in the special . selection of fashion photography and fashion drawings in this exhibition , it always goes to the presentation of the ” eternal ” beauty on the one hand and their ” convertible ” concept within the times . “

Only one aspect of the fashion story of the younger time the show has to fit : With regard to Islamic morals were so Martin Fervers , too revealing and sexually charged images , specifically in fashion photography in recent decades certainly play a part in this exhibition taboo. But the fascination of looking at the great and sometimes rare testimonies of the history of fashion , gathered here does not diminish .
